Camp Details

The success of the camp will be due to a sound teaching philosophy that is implemented by experienced instructors. This camp is a teaching camp in which the instructors demonstrate and explain volleyball techniques, tactics and systems. Campers are continually given feedback in these areas. All drills, sessions and instruction are designed to provide as many quality contacts as possible to occur throughout the camp.

The day begins with exclusive setter training for 1 1/2 hours. All aspects of the setting position are covered in great detail. The setters, hitters, libero’s, and defensive specialists are then combined for 2 1/2 hours. The “combined training” progression is single contact to multiple contact, multiple skill, small group, game-related, pass-set-hit, dig-set-hit training. At the end of the morning session, setters, libero’s, and defensive specialists receive additional position-specific training. The afternoon session consists of “combined training” (for example, pass-set-hit) followed by position-specific training for setters, libero’s, and defensive specialists. The evening session consists exclusively of 6-on-6 drills with the feedback emphasis on individual position technique and tactics, followed by a technical recap and evening seminar. Additionally, two entire afternoons are designated for “specialized stations” where campers can practice any skill they would like to improve.

This camp is designed for all levels of play: Beginner,Intermediate and Advanced. Players are divided by position, experience, and ability. Players are required to have completed the 7th grade. Players are given comprehensive instruction and hundreds of quality contacts in all aspects of volleyball techniques. They are also taught tactics for their position along with team systems. Parents and family members are always welcome to observe the teaching sessions and the seminars.

The camp will be utilizing mostly grass courts as well as our indoor courts at one of the most beautiful college campuses in all of California. Pepperdine University features comfortable living accommodations for two people in a room and four rooms per suite. Campers must provide their own bedding. Wholesome buffet meals will be served in the University cafeteria that gives you a view of the Pacific Ocean while you eat. Campers will be supervised at all times by our adult staff. They will not be allowed to leave camp for any purpose without prior written permission from their parents. Please remember to provide a name and phone number of an additional person to contact in case of emergency.

Listing a roommate request on the application does not guarantee your choice. An attempt will be made to honor your first or second choice, but failing to do that, an effort will be made to house you in the same suite.
